Breakfast In Wroclaw – 7 Fun Places To Get Your Morning Fix

Breakfast In Wroclaw – 7 Fun Places To Get Your Morning Fix

Breakfast in Wroclaw is a full meal. It doesn’t matter where you head to. You will find that Polish breakfast is a hearty meal. The only issue that we truly had with breakfast in Wroclaw is that we were not hungry for lunch because everyone had over eaten by the first few hours of the morning.

In all seriousness, this was my experience throughout Poland so Wroclaw was not so different but it was our first taste of Poland so it really surprised us. Wroclaw has many restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy sitting and enjoying a good breakfast.

During our time here we spent a lot of time in them because it was nice for the kids to sit down out of the cold or just for a slow start to the morning.

Here are some of our favorite places for breakfast in Wroclaw.

Traditional Polish Breakfast In Wroclaw

1. Bar Mleczny Mis

Milk bars in Wroclaw are a great option for a cheap and good breakfast

Bar Mleczny Mis is one of the busiest restaurants in the city. It is low priced Polish food that is served up with a flourish. It is actually known as a milk bar and the food here is famous for its homemade feel and taste.

It is open for breakfast too. Here you can choose from a variety of traditional Polish dishes. The one thing that you have to be aware of however is that it is always crowded. This means catching a table is hard. It’s a place for a quick but good meal. One that is frequented by few tourists but a lot of the locals.

2. Bar Mleczny – Jacek I Agatka

One of the lesser crowded milk bars for breakfast in Wroclaw

If you want a milk bar that isn’t rushed but serves up delicious food then head to the Bar Mleczny – Jacek I Agatka. Here you can easily order what you want and there is plenty of seating. So you aren’t rushed despite the crowds that pour in.

One of the things that I loved here was the pancakes. You can get them in sweet and savory options too. Very filling, not very expensive and great for breakfast. It also has a washroom which is different from the other milk bar. Something that we needed with our kids and is always a factor when we consider where to have food.

3. MASZTO

Zapiekanki makes an amazing breakfast in Wroclaw

MASZTO is the go to place if you want to try zapiekanki in Wroclaw. For those of you who are new to the country and its food, zapiekanki is an open faced sandwich which is made by slicing a baguette in half horizontally. Each side of the baguette is now used as the base of the sandwich. It is toasted, loaded up with toppings and toasted again. So it’s a nice hot meal. Definitely breakfast material and very filling.

The bonus here is that MASZTO has some nice seating areas so while zapiekanki is technically a street food item, you can enjoy it while relaxing indoors. Definitely a win especially in the colder months of the year.

4. Chmiel Kawe

Chmiel Kawe is a nice laid back spot for a light breakfast in Wroclaw

If you want a nice light breakfast in Wroclaw and want to start out slow, I would recommend heading to Chmiel Kawe. The cafe is super cute but it has a limited menu. What it does have, it makes extremely well. Like the kind you would go back for seconds or thirds.

Chmiel Kawe is known for its excellent coffee. Something that I can totally attest too. We did not visit this cafe for breakfast because we always tend to eat a large breakfast. Instead we visited it later in the day where we just chilled and enjoyed the vibe.

5. Etno Ovo Cafe

Etno Ovo cafe is one of my favorite places for breakfast in Wroclaw

One of our favorite places for a big breakfast in Wroclaw was the Etno OVO cafe. Mind you, here are two Etno cafes. One is in the main city area and one is a couple of minutes walk away. Now the one in the city is super crowded and often hard to find a seat at. We chose to take a short walk away to enjoy a quieter breakfast. It was still busy but we got a table quite easily during peak times.

The café has a variety of different things to offer when it comes to the menu. Now you could choose to go with one of their numerous cakes which are excellent or go for a whole breakfast. It is totally your call. The coffee here is amazing and so are their teas.

Takeaway Spots For Breakfast In Wroclaw

One of the things that I really love about breakfast in Wroclaw is that you don’t have to go hungry just because you are in a rush. There are a number of to go spots that work great for a breakfast on the run. My best recommendation is to hit one of the bakeries near you. These however were the top picks among the numerous spots that we tried in the day.

6. Chleboteka Kiosk

The small inconspicuous bakery houses some of the best baked goods that I have eaten in Poland.

They have plenty of sweet and savory options. he best part is that they open early so if you need a grab and go option this is the place to visit.

Our kids loved visiting it and the staff are very kind and patient. We’ve been there a number of times during our short trip to Wroclaw and even took stuff from here for our drive to Krakow.

7. Pan Precel

So amazing pretzels to choose from for breakfast in Wroclaw

Pan Precel was Shawn’s favorite restaurant. Did you know that pretzels are very common in Wroclaw? There are numerous stores that sell them.

You can get them in all different types of versions. The classic one or pretzels loaded with chocolate, nuts and more. If you prefer the savory version then you can try the ones stuffed with meat and cheese.

They are usually served up hot so it fees awesome on the colder days.

Even though we were in the city for a short time, we fell in love with Wroclaw. One of the best things about the city was all the great breakfasts in Wroclaw that we indulged in. If you are a foodie, you will find that this is the best city to visit. Well I have to correct that because for us Poland was all about food.
