Where To Stay In Cascais, Portugal – 8 Amazing Hotels

Wondering where to stay in Cascais? Well if you ask me, location doesn’t matter too much when it comes to convenience because Cascais is pretty small. Any place you pick should be great as long as you stick to the central area. The further outside the center you head to, the cheaper the accommodation generally is. This however is not true when it comes to the beachfront properties.

We spent a couple of days in the area and chose to live here rather than in Lisbon. This was because we wanted to enjoy the beach which is definitely one of the prime attractions of the area. The food, vibe and overall joie de vivre of the city were definitely added bonuses when it came to this choice and if I had to make the decision again, I would not change a thing.

Where To Stay In Cascais – Center Of The City

Wondering where to stay in Cascais? The center of the city of Cascais is a vibrant spot. It comes alive almost every day and on Sundays, you will find pop up markets in the center. Generally speaking most of the roads in the area are filled with tourists but as the evening drops in, the day trippers move away and only the people living in the area remain.

This is probably why I liked wandering here later in the evening. Don’t get me wrong. It still has a vibrant nightlife but it is just not that overpopulated like many of the bigger cities in Europe.

When it comes to where to stay in Cascais, I recommend picking in the center of the city because most of the hotels are more in the budget to mid-range level. It is still extremely close to the beach so you can easily head out for a beach day.

1. Da Pergola

Da Pergola is one of the prettiest hotel in Cascais, Portugal

⭐️ Rating: 9.2/10 (759 Reviews) Price: $250 per night 📍Location: Av. Valbom nº 13, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

I often get asked where to stay in Cascais that is central and luxurious. You will find that one of the most eye-catching hotels in Cascais is Da Pergola. The building is just stunningly beautiful. We walked past this hotel almost every day and kept wishing that we knew about it before we booked our own accommodation.

“The staff were delightful. They were friendly, attentive and very professional. The room was very comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. The breakfast choices were varied, imaginative and delicious. The restaurant and bar was exceptional and comfortable.”

For one thing, Da Pergola is as central as it gets. This makes it super convenient especially if you are travelling with kids or someone with limited mobility.

The building itself is an old Portuguese house that has been restored beautifully. It has a gorgeous garden with an active Mediterranean restaurant on site. This is especially true in the evenings when people love to sit downstairs in the gardens and eat a meal.

Honestly, once you are inside the walls of this cute boutique hotel, the buzz of the city will fade away and if you are walking by, you will be tempted to walk in.

The rooms of Da Pergola confirm with its beautiful setting. They are furnished with old restored furniture and beautiful Portuguese tile work. The rooms obviously come with all of the amenities that you need and are very comfortable. The big bonus is the breakfast that is included in the price. Pretty ideal when it comes to starting a nice lazy day in Cascais.

If you are wondering where to stay in Cascais and want a luxury accommodation in the center of the city then Da Pergola is the place to be.

2. Cascais Bay Hostel

⭐️ Rating: 7.6/10 (588 Reviews) Price: $27 per person per night 📍Location: Rua da Palma, Largo Luis de Camoês,38 – 2º Piso, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

Wondering about where to stay in Cascais on a budget? Try Cascais bay hostel.

If you are wondering where to stay in Cascais and have a tight budget then check out the Cascais bay hostel.

It is located centrally and is one of the best places to hang out in town. This particularly works out well if you are a solo traveler because the price per bed is definitely something that would tempt me.

The family rooms however do turn out to be as expensive as many of the other places close by so it isn’t one of the places that I would recommend if you are traveling with kids.

Now to all the reasons why the Cascais bay hostel is great. For one its location is perfect in terms of its proximity to the city.

You get out of the hostel and you are in the heart of the city. Its that great. Plus its about a 2-3 minutes walk from Praia de Ribeira which is the nearest beach.

One of the big attractions of this hostel is the rooftop bar where you can chill in the evenings and have a drink with some of the other people staying in the building.

Its a lovely place to watch the sunset and you have a great view too! If you want a budget hotel and are wondering where to stay in Cascais, then Cascais bay hotel is one of your best bets.

“It’s a great place to stay. Location is perfect – right in the center of the city were all night life and 5 minutes away from local beaches. Bus and train station are 10 minutes away. Auchan is 10 minutes to walk. You can find other product shops just next to the hostel but they overpriced obviously. Stuff is great and friendly. Did not charge me for the late check-in. The only thing is that two night clubs right there and they play music up until 2 a.m. so it’s better to use earplugs. Sometimes there are parties thrown at the terrace in the hostel which is great.”

Where To Stay In Cascais – Beachfront Hotels

Now, most of the beachfront hotels are so close to the city center that they could be considered in the above section. I personally search for beachfront properties and thought that others like me would appreciate a separate section on these hotels.

After all, given the popularity of the beaches in the area, there should be a lot of people looking for them when considering their options on where to stay in Cascais.

3. Westlight Cascais Chalet (Adults Only)

Westlight Cascais may not look like much from outside but the rooms are pretty swanky.

⭐️ Rating: 9/10 (615 Reviews) Price: $347 per night 📍Location: Rua Tenente Valadim, 76, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

I’m going to start off making sure I mention this in capital letters. The Westlight Cascais Chalet is an ADULTS ONLY property. This means that it is definitely not something that our family travelers should be looking at.

BUT if you are headed to the town without kids then the Westlight Cascais Chalet is one of the best beachside hotels in Cascais.

When you pass by the hotel from the outside it may not look like much. In fact, it kinda merges with the other buildings around. This is set in one of the older buildings in the area.

Each room unit has a small balcony where you can catch a view of the surroundings.

It is important to note that all the rooms don’t have a view of the sea. So make sure that you book the right type of room or you’ll miss out on this.

The hotel is super close to the city so you can easily head to the historic center to enjoy all the fun things to do in Cascais.

“Our ocean front room was in a great location with a fabulous view! Many restaurants in walking distance, with one of the best next door! The Hifen! The train station is a 10 min walk with easy access to Lisbon, 40 min along the coast!

The hotel staff is top- notch with smiling faces every morning when we came down to the wonderful complimentary breakfast! Every member of the staff happily went out of their way to help you navigate your travel plans and answer any questions!

We were given hand written directions and recommendations for everything we wanted! We highly recommend this hotel!!!”

It is also a little further away so that the noise of the night partying wouldn’t bother you. Plus it also has its own garden when you can enjoy a bit of quiet time. It is also very close to beach so you can easily enjoy a day of sun and sand without worry. Definitely one of the places that you should consider if you are mulling over where to stay in Cascais.

4. Villa Cascais

Wondering where to stay in Cascais? Villa Cascais is the best in terms of location.

⭐️ Rating: 8.9/10 (438 Reviews) Price: $279 per night 📍Location: Rua Fernandes Thomás 1, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

If you are still wondering where to stay in Cascais and are looking for beachside accommodation, consider Villa Cascais. This hotel is located in an aristocratic residence from the 19th century. We were walking by and thought that it was one of the monuments in the area. Its that pretty from the outside but not in a very ostentatious way if you know what I mean. It’s called a villa but it is huge. You get this impression from the outside alone.

It is located right by the beach which is why it has a number of rooms with beach views. The location makes it easy to enjoy beach days.

Despite its proximity to beach, it doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice the fun of the center of the city. This is because everything is a short walk away.

The inside of the Cascais villa is decorated with a unique color for every floor. The rooms have all the modern amenities which make enjoying the historic building so pleasurable.

There is even an inhouse restaurant called Reserva da Villa which is on the first floor. The restaurant also has some pretty breath taking views of the Cascais bay and is one of the popular restaurants in the area.

“A perfect way to end our three weeks travel around Portugal! The location, on the beach/marina was absolutely perfect. We splurged for the best room, named quite appropriately number 360. The views were amazing from three different balaconies!

From the moment we entered the hotel, we knew we’d be creating special memories! The breakfast was delicious, with many options (most included with the price). The manager was able to answer and questions immediately, and with such expertise.

We appreciated the wait and bar staff who guided us with the best local food and shops! We are so grateful to have visited Villa Cascais Boutique. Thank you”

You can see why this is one of the really cool places to stay in Cascais. Did I mention that it also has free parking? That’s a big bonus because finding parking in the area can be a bit hard.

5. The Albatroz Cascais

The Albatroz is one of the cool hotels in Cascais with a beachside view.

⭐️ Rating: 9.3/10 (1,173 Reviews) Price: $283 per night 📍Location: Rua Frederico Arouca 100, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

The Albatroz Cascais is one of the hotels in Cascais that you will notice when you walk along the coast. The hotel is gorgeous and it lies bang at the side of the beach. This means that many of the rooms in this hotel have a rather magnificent view of the famed Cascais bay. The hotel has two wings, the new wing and the historic wing. Both are equally pretty and have themed rooms.

One of the big attractions of this hotel is the lovely sea facing pool with lounge chairs and parasols that you can enjoy. There’s nothing like a cool dip to take away the heat that beats down on you during the hot summers in Portugal.

The Albatroz also makes sure that you are stocked up with beach towels that you can use on the beach or at the pool.

Now that’s not all! There’s a panoramic restaurant that serves up some delicious meals in addition to the regular breakfast spread. You can even get some snacks in the day while gazing out at the horizon in the distance.

Make sure you check in at the restaurant when you pass by because they sometimes organize wine tastings here too!

“This is the most expensive hotel I’ve ever paid for. I needed luxury, and The Albatroz Hotel is WOW. The location of this wonderful hotel is just amazing. You live on the beach. The room was perfect. I got this warm feeling when I entered it. Good size (private) balcony with sea view.

The reception staff was really friendly and service- minded. I thought maybe they would feel too “posh” for me. But at The Albatroz Hotel, all customers are welcomed with smiles and service. I must also give the kitchen staff a huge kiss. The food was amazing. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever tasted. Everything about The Albatroz was beyond expectations.”

⭐️ Rating: 8.4/10 (3,962 Reviews) Price: $101 per night 📍Location: Passeio D. Luís 1 – Av. Marginal , Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

Hotel Baia is pretty much beachside property and it is one of the few ones that you can get a in a mid range budget. The building is huge and imposing. You can’t miss it when you pass by Musea de Villa.

The hotel has a great location because it is just across the street from Praia da Ribeira and just a few meters away from the bustling heart of Cascais. All the main things to do in the city are just a short walk away too.

Interestingly enough, Hotel Baia also has a rooftop pool which is a pretty cool because it has a nice view of the Praia da Ribeira and the boardwalk. Its is a great place to watch the sunset.

“The location was excellent right on the waterfront and at the beginning of old town. Couldn’t ask for better. Breakfast was delicious and room was small but very comfortable especially having the patio looking at the sea. Nice to have that space to relax.”

The rooms of Hotel Baia are nice and spacious. The important part is that all of them have air-conditioning which is a life saver during the hot summer months in Portugal.

Where To Stay In Cascais – Cliff Face Views

An important thing that you should understand when you are considering where to stay in Cascais is that there is a difference on all parts of the coast. The part nearer to the city has lovely beaches but as you head toward the Boca do Inferno, the coast becomes hillier. It has cliff faces with some rather dramatic views.

If you stay in this area, you will definitely find the neighborhood quieter but you will be a bit further away from the beaches. The views however are worth it!

7. Farol Hotel

As you can see, the Farol hotel has some exquisite views of the Cascais bay.

⭐️ Rating: 8.1/10 (498 Reviews) Price: $308 per night 📍Location: Avenida Rei Humberto II de Itália, 7, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

Farol hotel is by far one of the best hotels in Cascais with a cliffside view. This spot s perfect if you love dramatic views and want some quiet away from the tourists. The 5 star hotel has everything you could possibly need. You don’t even have to head on the short walk to the city for anything unless you want a change in scenery.

The rooms are pure luxury. They even have special showers that have a shower column with water jets designed to give you a relaxing massage. Obviously all the the amenities that come with a 5 star accommodation are also included. You even get a bathrobe, slippers and more. Plus a fully stocked minibar!

“The location is great. Our room gave us direct view of the Ocean and the cliffs. We also enjoyed the food very much. Probably the best thing about Farol Hotel is the food.”

Kennesy (read more reviews now!)

On campus you will find a saltwater swimming pool. That means you can take a cooling dip at your leisure and don’t even have to worry about going to the beach if you don’t want to. Tired of swimming? Head to the lounge bar next to it to try one of the cocktails that will be mixed up for you.

Sushi Design is an onsite restaurant with a pretty great selection of sushi. Since Portugal gets a lot of fresh fish. the sushi here is pretty impeccable. But if sushi isn’t your thing, try the Mediterranean dishes at the Mix restaurant. Yes! There are two restaurants onsite.

While you can easily walk all over Cascais, if you want to try something a bit different, rent cycles from the reception. That way you can head out a bit further and enjoy the Portuguese coast better.

8. Pestana Citadela Cascais

The Pousada Cascais aka Pestana Cascais

⭐️ Rating: 8/10 (3,049 Reviews) Price: $194 per night 📍Location: Av. Manuel Julio Carvalho e Costa, 115, Cascais Details: Read more on booking.com now!

One of the most surprising places where I found a good hotel in Cascais was in the Citadel of Cascais. I’m not kidding! A part of the Citadel of Cascais has been restored and now houses Pestana Citadela Cascais which a popular 5 star hotel.

This is one of the hotels that is great if you are traveling with kids because your kid stays for free if they are under 13 years old which is pretty cool.

The hotel has not one but two swimming pools which is not obvious if you are wandering around the outside of the hotel. This is because the largest outdoor space for guests is facing the sea. That’s where the pools are too. Along with the sun loungers and parasols of course.

“We only stayed for one night, but i would pick it again if i ever came back to Cascais. The breakfast was superb, one of the best we’ve had. Hotel is located in a quiet area. They have plenty of parking spaces, which was great.”

Alina (read more reviews now!)

It also has a large garden where you can spend time in and the children can pay in. Extremely crowded and perfect when it comes to enjoying the summer in Cascais.

The rooms are spacious and each of them has its own outdoor seating area. I particularly love this because since we travel with kids, you can just enjoy the view once the kids turn in. This is both in the afternoon and in the night. Its also a nice place to enjoy a quick snack or meal in relative quiet.

Speaking of which, I almost forgot to mention that all the rooms come with a small attached kitchenette. This means that you can also cook up a small meal in house which is super convenient. It also has free parking which is another great bonus because parking is tough in the city.

When it comes to where to stay in Cascais, the options are numerous. A lot of them offer a lot of luxury and some really spectacular views of the bay. If you are headed in with car, make sure to choose one of the hotels in Cascais with free parking because finding cheap parking is really difficult.
